Mother's Sacrifice

Helen Sampaga cannot contain her happiness as her daughter aiza mae and son john paul joined the graduating class of 2009. Aiza mae finished nursing while john paul completed his h.r.m. Course.
But behind helen's smile is a sad truth. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last april 2008. She kept this secret from her children and decided not to undergo an operation. She opted to spend whatever family savings they have for her children's requirements in school.
"i don't want them to be bothered with my condition. So i waited until they could graduate," helen said.
Even her children were not aware of their mother's condition until before graduation. John said, "we did not know until lately because she did not want us to stop going to school."
Aiza and john vowed to look for a job after graduation to raise funds for their mother's operation.
Most parents put a high premium for their children's education. They are willing to sacrifice to see them through college.
For helen and these other parents, to see their children walk up the stage and receive their college diploma is also a culmination of sorts of years of labor and sacrifices.

It may be late to share you this but i opted to post it anyway. I was touched by how helen faught cancer. Last may, after my feature on tv, helen recieved few help from benifactors who helped her in her successful operation.
