A diffirent kind of reunion for ampatuans
Manila - It looks like a family reunion for the member of Ampatuan family. Early morning on April 16, lawyers of Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. tried to stop the CIDG Manila and Marines from bringing the governor to Manila. They even wrote a letter to Lt.Gen. Raymundo Ferer of the Eastern Mindanao Command requestingt the continued detention of Andal Sr. at Camp Panacan Hospital while waiting for the resulotion on the motion for reconsideration filed by the government regardingt he dismissal of the rebellion case.
But the efforts were unsuccessful. At six in the evening, CIDG and marines brought Andal Sr. to the Tactical Operations Group Headquarters in Davao City, where a c130 plane was waiting.
When Andal Sr. boarded the plane, he was reunited with five other members of the Ampatuan clan implicated in the November 23 Maguindanao massacre; Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Zaldy Ampatuan, Maguindanao Governor Sajid Ampatuan, Vice Governor Akmad Ampatuan Sr., and Shariff Aguak Mayor Anwar Ampatuan.
Earlier, supporters were empotional as they bid goodbye to five other Ampatuans detained at General Santos CIDG detention. At 10:30 in the evenin, c130 touched down at the Villamor Air Base.
They were immediately brought to Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig and detained along with the prime suspect in the massacre, Andal Ampatuan Jr. (fem)
