6 men take P3-M jewelry, cash in daring mall robbery
MANILA, Philippines - Six gunmen took P3 million worth of cash and jewelry in a daring mall robbery in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, on Friday night.
Superintendent Joel Niel Salcedo, Tagum City police chief, said the 6 armed robbers barged into the Gaisano mall at around 7:45 p.m..
Salcedo said that the gunmen split into 3 groups and raided the Elle Jewelry Creation and the Diamond Place pawnshop on the mall's second floor. Two of the gunmen stood as lookouts outside the shops.
Holding sales ladies at gunpoint, the suspects hammered the glass display cabinets and emptied the cash registers of the 2 shops.
The gunmen ran to the mall’s front entrance and escaped on 2 motorcycles, police said.
